The race begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Olympic Arch in front of the Eau Claire YMCA (101 3 Street SW). We also offer a 9:30 start for people who anticipate taking longer than 2 1/2 hours to complete the event.
There is construction everywhere and we have adapted the Last Chance Half route accordingly. The start and finish remains the same at the Olympic Arch in front of the Eau Claire Y. You will be running across the river immediately at the start through Prince’s Island Park. You then head west along the pathway on the north side of the river to the first turn around just west of 29th St. After you turn you head back eastbound on the same path and cross the river to the south side at the new bridge across St. Patrick’s Island. From there you continue east through Inglewood and Pearce Estates. The second turn around is now just before you go under the bridge (and bump into more construction) at 17th Ave. You then return the same way staying on the south side of the river to the finish.
There will be three aid stations set up but you will pass all of them twice giving you six opportunities for water and Gatorade. You will pass stations at approximately: 3 km, 8 km, 12.5 km, 14.5 km, 17.5 km and 19.5 km.
There is plenty of street parking which is free on a Sunday morning. There is also a surface lot accessible from 2 Ave SW and an underground lot accessible from 2 St SW. Both are $2 on Sunday’s.
